Of whales and spirituality

The seaside town of Hermanus – outside Cape Town, South Africa – is best known for its whale watching around this time of year. However, one of the more recent highlights for Muslims is the recently-opened Ismail and Miriam Islamic Centre – housed on the main road leading in and out of town.

With an impressive design, interior, and modern fittings, it’s not only a home for Muslims of the area, but an important centre for da’wah in an otherwise non-Islamic region of the Cape.
