As per Wikipedia:
“YKK” stands for “Yoshida Kōgyō Kabushikigaisha” – the name of the YKK Group – which is a Japanese group of manufacturing companies. They are the world’s largest zipper manufacturer; but they also manufacture other fastening products, architectural products, and industrial machinery.
