When you feel overwhelmed by life’s burdens,
Call Out to Him.
When your spirit is buried under the dust of your challenges,
Call out to Him.
When you can’t see beyond the present darkness that surrounds you;
You’re in that cold, heartless tunnel,
With no light in sight,
No end to your pain,
No idea if – or how – you’ll ever get out alive.
Call out to Him.
Because,
Like the tree that can’t see its place in the beautiful forest,
Or the drop of water that doesn’t realise how it’s just one component
in the magnificence of the vast ocean,
This present moment is but a dot –
A speck on the spectrum –
and, sooner or later,
It’ll be over.
And you’ll be happy again:
Able to perceive
how your struggle was only temporary;
An episode that was meant to bring something to your life:
Shaping you,
Making you,
Giving you
a benefit which you could not have gained
if life had run perfectly well –
With no bumps or bruises along the way.
They say that smooth seas never made a skilled sailor,
And when you sail forward –
out of your current storm –
look back and appreciate
the gifts you gained
from these choppy waters.
So,
though it may feel like you can’t take it anymore –
thrown this way and that –
set down your anchor:
that priceless faith
in a Higher Power
Who is with you,
even now,
and will remain as such,
right to the end.
Don’t ever lose hope.
He’s all you need.
Call out to Him.

Nice poem! I really like that line about the sailors. I think my struggles are what keep me going and wanting to improve myself although it can take decades to figure out how to even begin! Jumuah Mubarak!
