Blog admin: site address change (and what you need to do)

The simple version

Just a quick check-in to advise that if any of you have the address https://yacoob.link/ bookmarked for this site, that will no longer work as of 7th February 2026.

Instead, please change your bookmark address to https://dreamlife.wordpress.com.

The complex version

I’m letting yacoob.link expire, as I’ve moved to an address I prefer: https://dreamlife.page

HOWEVER:

That address needs to be renewed annually, and I don’t know if I will do that. So, the best thing to do is to simply keep the bookmark as https://dreamlife.wordpress.com, as this will lead you to this site no matter what.

Almost back…

Now that the boring stuff is out of the way, keep an eye out for a new series which I hope to begin posting here very soon. It’ll cover my recent trip, complete with pictures and insights, so I hope you stick around for that.

A belated happy new year, folks!

    1. Hi Vance. For my Ramadaan book back in 2023, I decided to move to a custom domain as it would be easier for marketing. I would’ve loved to stick with “dreamlife” in that domain, but all the addresses with that were super expensive. So I just went with one that had my name in it, even though I didn’t really feel comfortable with it. Each year, I review whether to renew the paid plan on WordPress, and saw an opportunity to go back to the “dreamlife” reference at a fairly low cost, so I jumped on it. (Why “dreamlife”? That’s explained here: https://dreamlife.page/about)

It was pretty easy to change, and the WordPress AI chatbot was super helpful in answering my questions. (Easily the most intuitive, useful AI bot I’ve used.)
