Before I move on,
let me remember the feeling
of being submerged in the biggest part of my planet;
Wave after wave,
gentle and rough,
smoothly-contoured and wildly spread;
Jumping into,
under,
facing head on,
and turning my back;
Being moved by the never-ending forces of push and pull,

Snuggling under the covers,
hot drinks in hand,
immersed in books
or movies,
eating snacks;
Putting on pounds
to insulate against the season’s biting cold.

Sleeping cats
wrapped within warm blankets,
fur no longer sufficient to warm little bodies,

Rekindle that wild, uninhibited freedom;
where the world is an open plain,
and your only barrier
is shortness of breath,
and tiredness of legs.

No thinking.
No worrying.
No concern for what might happen
if you fail to pace yourself
