Once beloved
Now discovered
In an abandoned pile
Up in the roof.
Fur dirty
Shirt all torn
None knows the agony
Of this panda scorned.
He lies with the rubble
Causing no trouble
Plaything outgrown
Forgotten, out thrown
Left in the cold
Are any so bold
To end his strife
And give this panda
A new life?

Oh, dear. There’s something so sad about abandoned toys and the children who have grown beyond the days that gave these toys story-filled lives, for a time.
I was thinking of Toy Story 3 as I wrote this…
Maybe this panda will find a new lease on life, though 🙂
Very sad. Did this nice Panda once belong to your kids, or was it discovered at the new place?
Discovered in the roof of the new place, and the previous owners aren’t bothered to collect, so off to the dump it goes…
Too bad. Could have been a nice plaything for some other child. Enjoyed the short and poignant poem.
My kids still want to keep it, but to be honest, it’s just too freaky. And I worry about what might have settled in it being in that roof. The previous owners were there for over 30 years, so that panda may have been up there quite a while.
Agree. No telling what kind of mold, germs, etc. took up residence in the Panda over the years.
